Production Day 2
On the second (and final) day of filming we only had four scenes left to film. This made it rather easy for us to finish shooting quickly. For those scenes we also had an extra (supporting) character: the body. The actress for that character had also arrived at the location and wore very casual clothes, as we had suggested. Our first task was to apply makeup on the extra character to add authenticity of a 'dead' body. Since I was in charge of that task, I made strangle and bruise marks on her neck and wrists. Raaniya also helped, especially to make her hands look 'dirty'.
The makeup took longer than expected, so we moved onto filming as soon as we were done. The shooting on this day did not require any additional lighting; Only one scene used artificial lighting, which was the kitchen scene. We got done with the first couple of scenes quite quickly as it was just simple close ups and continuous shots. Then we took a short ice cream after hearing the ice cream guy near our street, and continued shooting right after. Originally the last scene was going to be taken as Francine (character: Sophia) walked down the stairs and towards the arch. However, we discovered a narrow pathway near the back of the house, and chose to use try that way as well. It ended up looking better than planned, and is my personal favourite scene. All of the scenes in this location required natural lighting, and thankfully we were able to finish everything before the sun set.
The last scene we filmed was the one in the kitchen. One slight problem was that the kitchen cabinets, which the camera (phone) was to be placed in, were pretty high. As seen in the photo below, Francine could not be seen very well due to the height. Her scene required her to reach in and take trash bags out, so we resorted to her standing on a chair to do the action. This ended up working and we were finally done with all of the shooting. Therefore, we decided to celebrate by eating and resting.
